CAD / CAM Programmer – £45,000 – £50,000

Our client is one of the UK’s most established and reputable tier 1 suppliers to the Aerospace industry.
They require an experienced CAD/CAM programmer to join the team at Stansted assisting in the production of 3 and 5 axis programs for 2D and 3D models.
Main responsibilities and duties will include:-
- Produce 3 and 5 axis CNC programs with supporting documentation from both 2D drawings and 3D models.
- Produce 3D model data from 2D drawings where model data is required but not available from the customer.
- Design any tooling/fixtures to aid the efficient manufacture of precision parts.
- Communicate with shop floor staff, management and customers to resolve engineering problems.
- Assist with questions from shop floor staff and support/improve upon ongoing live work.
- Keeping up to date with the latest technology to drive continuous improvement and reduce scrap.
- Assisting in the tender and bid process by helping to estimate cutting times and advise best practices to manufacture along with operators.
- Training can be provided for the right candidate.
Desirable Experience:-
- Proven experience of OFFLINE Cad programming (minimum 3 years).
- Hypermill and Vericut experience advantageous, training may be offered for candidates with the right skills and experience.
- Experience of programming complex parts on 5-axis machines.
- Ability to read engineering drawings.
- Experience in LEAN manufacturing principles and driving continuous improvement.
- Previous experience in Aerospace and AS9100 is desirable.
40 Hours per week, Monday – Friday
